A Dazzling Adventure After a Montana Mountain Elopement
Kari and Alden enjoyed the grandeur and romance of their big day with the stunning mountains of Montana as their backdrop, but the celebration did not end there as we planned an Adventure Day shoot with them two days after they said, “I do!” This is an add-on we offer here at Promise Mountain. Because of Kari's heritage, (she’s half Norwegian), the choice of the scenic mountains was the perfect backdrop for starting her and Alden’s new life together and the fulfillment of a forgotten life-long dream she had to get married in the mountains!
One of our favorite things to do with our couples here at Promise Mountain is to schedule Adventure Days after the wedding. Our time with Kari & Alden was so special!
An Adventurous Hike Up To the Summit of Mt. Oberlin
We headed out into Glacier National Park for the Adventure Day shoot two days after Kari and Alden’s mountain elopement. Once we arrived at Mt. Oberlin, we set off on our hike up to the summit! Alden, ever the gentleman, carried three of Kari’s dresses (including their wedding clothes, which they wanted to wear again) up the mountainside during our two-hour hike. He was always checking in and making sure his new bride, Kari, was well taken care of.
We reached the top of the summit at the perfect time, the sunlight turned to the most heavenly golden glow. It was unbelievably breathtaking! As Kari and Alden stood near the edge of the cliff, Kari whispered to Alden “I’m not afraid of a hard life. The mountain does not change, just as hardships in life don’t disappear...even still nothing has matched the peace, comfort, safety, and trust I have found…in climbing it all with you.”
The entire climb up the mountain we were surrounded by stunning scenic views and amazing wildlife, but nothing compared to the epic experience we all shared on the summit together at sunset. This Adventure Day shoot was one to remember, and we marked the moment by popping a bottle of champagne and celebrating our new friendship right there on the summit of Mt. Oberlin!
